The General English courses at AUA Open Education give students the opportunity to improve their all-round ability in English. Our courses are designed to develop listening, speaking, reading, and writing skills, while laying a strong foundation of vocabulary and grammar.
The faculty members of AUA Open Education use a creative and interactive teaching approach to meet the varied learning needs of our students and build their confidence in the use of English. To ensure that learning is enjoyable for our students, we use a range of complementary teaching techniques and materials in addition to the primary textbook. We aim to maximize language skill development and effective communication. Instruction is provided by highly qualified instructors.
General English is taught in 6 levels: Level 1 (beginner), Level 2 (elementary), Level 3 (pre-intermediate), Level 4 (intermediate), Level 5 (upper intermediate), and Level 6 (advanced).
Student levels are determined based on placement test scores, which applicants need to take before enrolling in the General English courses at AUA Open Education.
Online Courses
Start Date: Classes roll on a continuous basis
Duration: 80 hours conducted over 10 weeks
Days: Mondays, Wednesdays & Fridays or Tuesdays, Thursdays & Saturdays
Time: Afternoons 3:00 PM – 5:30 PM or Evenings 6:30 PM – 9:00 PM
Fee: AMD 95,000
Offline Courses
Schedule 1: 9 hours per week
Start Date: Classes roll on a continuous basis
Duration: 80 hours conducted over 9 weeks
Days: Mondays, Wednesdays & Fridays or Tuesdays, Thursdays & Saturdays
Time: Afternoons 3:00 PM – 6:00 PM or Evenings 6:30 PM – 9:30 PM
Fee: AMD 104,000
Schedule 2: 6 hours per week
Start Date: Classes roll on a continuous basis
Duration: 80 hours conducted over 14 weeks
Days: Tuesdays and Thursdays
Time: Evenings 6:30 PM – 9:30 PM
Fee: AMD 104,000

A placement test is required if you have not attended English courses at AUA Open Education. Placement tests are administered every Thursday at 4:00 PM at the American University of Armenia. Advance registration is required through im.aua.am. Placement test fee: 2,100 AMD.
