Lower Intermediate German

About the course:

This course is based on interactive and collaborative methods of teaching the German language. It is comprised of listening and comprehension tasks as well as written and oral exercises around everyday topics. 

By the end of the course, participants will master the A2 level of the German language including

  • understanding the basics of the German language (vocabulary and grammar),
  • comprehending simple texts (e.g., personal notes, brochures, advertisements), 
  • writing simple personal letters and filling out forms.

The course consists of 24 lessons; each lesson’s duration is 1,5 hours (36 hours in total).

Learning objectives:

  • At the end of the course, students will acquire basic language skills (reading, writing, listening, speaking) and achieve the equivalent of A2 level of the Common European Framework of Reference for Languages (CEFR), more specifically
  • understand sentences and frequently used expressions related to areas of most immediate relevance,
  • communicate in routine situations that involve simple, direct exchange of information on familiar topics and activities,
  • describe in simple terms aspects of their background, and immediate environment,
  • write short notes and messages as well as simple personal letters.
