Beginner’s German

About the course:
The German Language Beginner level course is designed for everyone who wants to learn German from scratch, master the language with all four skills: speaking, listening, reading, and writing.In addition to linguistic knowledge, participants will also be introduced to the culture and history of German-speaking countries (Germany, Austria, and Switzerland), developing intercultural communication skills.At the end of the course, the participants will acquire theoretical and practical knowledge level for written and oral communication in German. The course will also provide a preparatory stage for the language exams set by the Goethe-Institute.

Learning objectives:
By the end of the course students will acquire the following skills:

  • Reading-Understanding: Students should be able to read and understand texts about people, their professions and hobbies, as well as texts about weather and entertainment activities. Students should be able to answer true/false questions concerning the read texts.
  • Listening-Comprehension: Students should be able to listen and comprehend short information/statements and complete corresponding comprehension-checking tasks.
  • Speaking: Students should be able to make small talk, talk to people about their personality, profession, hobbies, and their living space. They should be able to speak about everyday situations, give directions of getting to a certain place.
  • Writing: Students should be able to write a short piece of text about themselves, they will be able to write postcard messages, notes, fill out forms/questionnaires, short surveys.
