Sarkis Cabayan Small and Emerging Business Development Program in Armenian Provinces with Scholarships for Women

The "Sarkis Cabayan Small and Emerging Business Development Program in Armenian Provinces with Scholarships for Women" was launched by AUA Extension in November 2022. The primary objective of the program is to promote business development throughout Armenia, with focused attention to assisting female entrepreneurs. The program content was developed by the AUA Manoogian Simone College of Business & Economics faculty and geared to providing entrepreneurs with a comprehensive six-month course covering financial management, market expansion, business management, and entrepreneurship. In addition to the core program, students receive individualized coaching and counseling by local and international mentors to continuously improve their enterprises. The course is taught in English and students enrolling in the course must possess basic knowledge of the language.

The initiative is sponsored by one of AUA’s distinguished sponsors, Armenian-American Dr. Hrayr Cabayan, who values women's empowerment through this top-quality education program that aims at improving society. Dr. Cabayan has established full scholarships for all female entrepreneurs studying in this program in memory of his father Sarkis Cabayan. The initiative will be directed to Armenians from Artsakh as well as female residents of Shirak, Lori, Tavush, Vayots Dzor, and Syunik.
